While studying medieval writings, Butler Yates came across a reference to a small folio of good thought and wisdom called The Oculatum - from the same Latin root as inoculate. Originally passed down by word of mouth, Yates collected these maxims for hard times into this book. Each page contains two four-line phrases meant to be repeated six times at three different intervals within 24 hours for six consecutive days.
